Sony USA: A560 delayed, A580 coming to US market

A little over a fortnight ago, Sony Electronics Inc. launched its new Sony Alpha A560 and A580 digital SLRs, and revealed that it planned only to bring the former to the US market.

Proving just how quickly plans can progress in the photo business, the company has now reversed that decision, and announced its intention to ship the Sony Alpha A580 in the USA from November 2010. The Alpha A560, meanwhile, has been delayed until the first quarter of 2011, with the company citing unanticipated levels of demand for its NEX-series single-lens direct view cameras.

The only significant difference between the Sony A580 and the other cameras is to be found in their choice of imaging sensor, with the A580 adopting a 16.2 megapixel, APS-C sized CMOS sensor, while the NEX-series cameras and the now-postponed A560 all feature 14.2 megapixel, APS-C CMOS chips. From this, we'd infer that the NEX-series cameras are taking up all of Sony's 14.2 megapixel sensor production capacity, leaving the A560 with a component shortage. Since the A580 uses a different chip, it faces no such problems.

Pricing for the Sony A580 in the US market has been set at around $800 body-only, and $900 with an 18-55mm kit lens, around $150 more than the previously announced pricing for the Sony A560. More details on the A580 can be found in our Sony A580 preview.

While the announcement means that prospective A560 customers will either have a longer than anticipated wait on their hands, or will need to switch to the more expensive, but higher resolution A580 model, it has to be seen as great news for Sony's nascent NEX-series. Healthy sales of the NEX-3 and NEX-5 would suggest that Sony's designs have struck a chord with photographers' needs.

宾得的确悲剧了，连泥坑的入门机都步入1.4mp行列，kx的后继机还在坚守1.2mp，kr完全没有当年kx的参数优势，估计kx的辉煌要被打回原型了

那么没有感光器要自己造感光器也可以说没有感光器，造的光刻机都没地方用而已

说明没有单反，DC线不全而已.

连单反都做不来（过去只能等同于casio）和不稀罕做单反（收购美能达）是2个概念，目地将单反从高端概念变成稀松平常的DC。

“固步自封”的事，索尼不做的。

如果要出自己感光器说明卖零件赚得多，
那么出大价钱买美能达出机身说明啥？

只能说明一个问题，索尼机器的实际销量远远超过了计划销量。实在抠不出生产潜力了。才导致自己的新机器都没有元件用。

sony本来就是卖DC机身的

自己研发ccd是两个钱都要赚，所以不矛盾，否则按你的逻辑，为啥专买感光器的sony, samsung, panasonic要自己出机身呢？

觉得是卖零件多，否则 研发CMOS岂不是很sb的行为嘛。

所以我说不敢确定。至少主观观看差别挺大

除了D3100，还有哪家用的是这块CMOS？
卖整机赚钱多，还是卖零件赚钱多？

各家的影像处理器和算法不同吧，即使RAW也是有区别的，光是色彩倾向，就能造成噪点表现的细微差异。

SONY的相机卖不动！
我估计是直接卖COMS给别家利润更可观，所以SONY宁愿自己少出JJ。

肉翻：几天之前索尼电子发布A560, A580两款新数码单反相机，并且决定只在美国市场发售前者。

这是一个相机市场计划赶不上变化的好例子，索尼公司的决定现在倒了过来，宣布A580将在2010年11月发售，但是A560推迟到2011年一季度，这是因为没有料到NEX系列相机的高需求。

A560和A580最大差别是A580采用16.2M的感光器，但是被延迟发售的A560采用和NEX系列一样的14.2M感光器。我们判断是因为NEX占用了所有索尼14.2M感光器的出货，A560就出现了配件紧张的情况。而A580由于采用了不同感光器，就没有这个问题。
