All right, fine. The future of the Foveon will not be in medium format, but it will of course evolve. What can we expect?

The question is: what could be improved compared to the current Quattro generation? The current answer is simple: everything. First, we need to improve performance at high sensitivities. Then, color reproduction in some situations. Finally, the processing speed, but here it is less a matter of sensor than a problem of processor. When I speak of speed, I am referring mainly to the reading speed of the sensor output information. But the priority will always be image quality: better resolution, better color fidelity... If we had unlimited resources, I would like to allocate them to these two points.

Of course, we are expected on the performances in high sensitivities, but we don't expect to get into this race and go too high. 800 or even 1600 ISO clean, that would already be good! Finally, and importantly, we need to improve the dynamic range of our sensors. I think the AFNs already deliver better performance than film, especially in terms of resolution. But I think that the AFNs are not quite up to speed yet in terms of dynamics and that the gradients can still be improved, with a finer and more progressive evolution between the low and high lights.

目前马赛克超解宾得是4次连拍，已经实现手持超解，拍一般风景静物或摆拍人像等基本静止的对象已经没有问题，而且可以大幅增加解析力，高感和动态范围。松下奥巴的超解是8次连拍，对稳定性要求高些。只要愿意搞4次连拍，理论上实现手持拍摄没有任何问题，主要看厂家愿意不愿多提供一种超解模式。
以目前适马的研发配套实力，我对X3已经不抱什么希望了。不过我会继续保留DP1M，2M。

硬件暂且放一下，软件spp 弄得 人性化一些好不？

分辨率7000还不够大吗？要那么大做什么？
赶紧把色度采样恢复到1:1:1吧，否则就别叫X3了。
