Project: What Brings Me Here?

After relocating from northern China to England a few years ago I have become increasingly interested in the post-industrial landscapes around the north east of England. nevertheless those empty land play the rule as None-Place in most people’s observation, however those Brown Field with atmospheric intrigue play a significant factor in my works, clearly for me they harbor strong atmospheres in the concept of “peripheral area”, moreover in the discussion with my dissimilar culture-based vision, my experience of European scenes always make me employ different representations of landscape works.

For this project I photographed brown-field sites that are commonplace in this densely populated and industrialized region. Although there are many similarities with my homeland, in terms of heavy industrialization and mass manufacturing, there are enormous differences, such as the infrastructure of vast state controlled industries, the diverse climate the landscape itself, as well as the pace at which redevelopment is taking place.

As China becomes a dominant force in manufacturing there are serious questions that need to be asked given what happened in Thatcher’s Britain in the 1980’s with the collapse of core industries? The legacy of such systemic collapse are the urban by-products that now surround us – the empty fields, left behind where the excess energies of the city come to simmer and disperse.

拍得真好..我以为是大幅片呢..哈哈

不啊，是卡片机拍的，当天带了一个海鸥120和sony卡片机，可惜不让用架子，不然还可以拍中画幅的，画质更高。

手术室里用大幅拍的?厉害.
一般人进不去啊..不过拍的很好..学习.
