-------------------------------------------------------------------- What You've Seen I took this picture in May 07 during a four day stay in Hoi An, a town on the East coast of Vietnam. I went there to meet up with my sister who was doing some work for a charity called Lifestart Foundation. This is a small, Australian charity that is helping underprivileged Vietnamese people to become self-sufficient. If you are an orphan or disabled in Vietnam there is no government support and life is very, very tough. My sister was working with a disabled group of twenty-five Vietnamese who have formed a co-operative. In spite of some awful personal circumstances the people I met were incredibly resilient and positive and I hope this came through in the photographs. david smith     |

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the year 1977 I recognized in beautiful Bromberg the true light of the world. I spent four years of my childhood living there until I moved to Rheinland and have since lived in the Duesseldorf area. I dedicated the first 28 years of my life to various hobbies( I will not go into depth) until October 2006 when I discovered the personal strength in photography. At first I took basic snap shots and now and again a Photograph. Since the beginning of 2007 I have been seriously interested in the profession of photography. It is amazing to discover and learn how a good photo should be taken... For the last few months and various journeys I have discovered how beutiful photography can be and at the end of the day it remains in the eyes of the person looking at the photo if the pictured will be recognized in a positive manner or not - independent of the quality of single photos. One additional thing that I have recognized is that: The camera is not responsible for the picture but the person who uses the camera and takes the pictures. I can say one thing, photography is actually a lot more than a hobby for my person but it is actually a part of my life! Basically a super alternative to my business life and job although both job and hobby are done with happiness and a portion of seriousness. Photographing is my dear hobby; by profession I am a piano teacher (classic music). Photographs and music inspire each other in my life. I have been taking pictures almost all my life, but more seriously last four years, when I got my first digital camera. I have never studied photographing, I am self-educated. I don manipulate my pictures, I only use basic enchanges (like contrast, sharpening etc.) I don take staged pictures, all my photos are taken in real situations. Mostly I take photographs of people, nature, and all possible. Most of my pictures are taken where I live, I don travel after pictures. 周润发摄影作品《黑白情怀》欣赏 摘自：imhb.cn
周润发20日连同九位摄影爱好者举行名为《黑白情怀》的摄影作品联展，因不想抢他人的风头，所以虽然人在香港，还是没有出席，其姐周聪玲代表他出席。玲姐表示发仔想低调，不想记者只顾着采访他而冷落其他几位，所以他宁肯不到。影展※※展中六幅发哥的黑白作品，其中包括关帝像、老爷车及渔村等。据玲姐透露，发哥最爱的是《渔村》那幅。她说：“平时拍完的黑白照片，全部发哥自己冲印，冲印药水都是由美国订回来的，香港都买不到。” 周润发的摄影已具有了相当的专业水准，早在香港无线电视艺训班时，周润发便对于摄影颇感兴趣。1997年，在迎接香港回归的一次大型影展上，发哥的姐姐偷偷用化名拿了他拍的三张生物照片来参展，结果其中一幅以逆光的西红柿为全景的照片，竟夺得了三等奖，令人刮目相看。 另外，朱玲玲也到场支持老师陈绍文，她亦赞赏发哥的作品感觉很好，逗留约五分钟便匆匆离去  不是亚瑟版还不知道发哥摄影作品如此震撼，之前只知道他姐姐是著名的昆虫摄影师，尤以拍蜻蜓、蝴蝶著称。 发哥70年代入道前就是个照相机铺的伙计，现在应该是个善用大幅黑白胶片机的顶级发烧友来着，没想到他的照片也拍得如此好，呵呵~~佩服！。 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ T h e e n d ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
