power mac G5的内存控制器应该可以同时支持单、双面内存条，只要每对的容量、速度、和单双面是一模一样的就可以。
比如，在4和5插一对单面256MB，然后又在3和6插一对1GB的双面应该是合理的。
如果内存条本身没有问题的话，我现在还想不出其它可能。
你能不能把你机器的openfirmware的版本贴出来？

对呀,我就是这样插的,内存是全新买的型号都一样,但只认出2G,我试过原配二条256M+新的二条1G也是只认出2G,不知跟内存条是否单.双面有关?我新买的应该是双面的,上面印着:KVR400X64C3A/1G,1GB DDR PC-3200 CL3 DIMM.

有8条内存槽的g5至少支持8x1GB。
根据苹果的定义，配对意思是同样的容量和速度。
比如2条都是1GB，pc3200速度，或者都是512kb，pc2700。
还有，1－8内存槽分2组，每组4条：

G5应该起码支持4G以上吧.

设成2.4GHz的时候能看到，但速度只有130M, 如果设成5GHz, 能有300M, 前提是周围不能有2.4G的信号，很奇怪。

苹果一直是推崇硬件系统平衡的啊，别的都配那么高了，GPU 是相当重要的一部分啊，不能掉价，要平衡！  听说以后的发展趋势， GPU 要分担很多 CPU 的工作呢。
