1956年，一个忠厚老实的农家青年走进军营，成为东北某边防※※的战士，令他万分没想到的是，发到他手中的不是一杆枪，而是一架照相机。
　　18岁的郑※※成为一名随军摄影记着。
　　从1956年到1976年，郑※※用20年的时间为我们留下了一段珍贵的“时代影像”。
　　当我们谈论上世纪50年代至70年代（中国）的照片时，总会伴随着一种怀旧情感，并无意间美化和升华我们对过去的回忆——我们曾经那么“纯真”过，我们曾经那么“朴实无华”，我们曾经那么“革命”和“浪漫”！而这一切“纯真”和“革命”的影像都来自于我们差不多30年如一日的“真诚”的革命浪漫主义的“摆拍”。它们和“真实”其实没有什么关系。
　　上世纪50年代至70年代恰恰是欧洲和美国的“报道摄影”（中国也管之叫“纪实摄影”）最为发达和辉煌的时期，与之对应的中国却是“政治摄影”（艺术摆拍）成为几乎唯一的主流，那时候，在中国摄影界甚至可能根本没有“报道”或“纪实”这样的词汇出现过。
　　翻看50年代至70年代的中国摄影理论文章，我们会不断看到“摄影为人民服务，摄影为工农兵服务，摄影为政治服务”的口号。在这种一切为“政治”服务的标准下，“摆拍”就必然成为一种唯一可行的摄影方式了。
　　似乎可以研究一下的是，如今在全世界都很火爆的“中国当代摄影”（观念摄影）几乎全是所谓“摆拍”的作品，好像跟50年代至70年代的中国摄影真是一脉相承，只是那时候“老摄影家”的摆拍完全代表是国家或者党的政治的意识（没有自我），而现在的“当代艺术家”的摆拍则完全代表的是“个人的意识和观念”。
　　作为老一代的摄影家，郑※※和许多那个时代的“革命摄影人”一样，他也是满怀真诚的“摆拍”的。他也有个人观念——只是这种“观念”孵化于当时的“文化革命思想”。那时郑※※满怀真诚的迷失着自我，但正因为这种迷失，使他留下了这些现在看来“非常当代”的影像。
　　今天，这些“非常珍贵也非常当代”的摄影作品终于再一次展示在公众面前。
