About me
Quiet, emotional, classic, clean, timeless. These are some of the words people describe my photographic style. I strive to capture silent pictures that can talk afterwards to everyone differently.
Taking silent pictures is not an easy task. I have a deep visual interest in the world we live and the people I meet. I feel equally comfortable on top of a mountain and in a small village near Florence. I can?t deny, my photographer role models are Sam Abell, Bruce Dale, David Alan Harvey and William Albert Allard. National Geogrpahic Magazine had a strong mark on my life.
I live with my wife in Budapest, Hungary - one of the most beautiful, exciting and controversial capital of Eastern Europe. As an economist I travelled around the world, lived in several countries, and never forgot my camera at home.

About me
During the week I work as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice, however my weekends are spent exploring the streets of Melbourne.
My work is influenced by the Australian artist Jeffrey Smart, and the American artist Edward Hopper. Like these artists, I try to capture the surreal, alienating starkness of urban landscapes, often with the inclusion of a single human form.
Although there is now an indistinct line between photography and digital art, I hope the essence of my work remains the photographic capture, a moment in time captured through a photographer's eye. My work therefore is more in the tradition of street photography, however blended with elements of digital manipulation.

BIOGRAPHY（传记）,读读人家的摄影成长经历也是学习哈
Rui Pires is Portuguese and born in 1968. The passion for photography began in 1983 as an amateur photographer. It is considered a photographer with a classical and humanist style, and is dedicated primarily to documentary photography.
At 2006 Rui Pires began a project that aims to document the life in Portuguese rural villages undergoing desertification, the Rural Moments project. The project still running.
At 2009 Rui Pires began the Lands of Allah project, a documentary about the life of the nomad tribes and Berbers-Touareg people in north of Africa and Sahara desert..
He have many publications in Web, magazines and newspapers in many countries. He have also won prizes and awards in exhibitions and photography contests.
With influences of Doisneau, Eisenstaedt, Adams and Salgado. he tries to achieve a humanistic approach to documentary photography and always try to dignify the people he portrays. Rui Pires shoots primarily in medium and large format with black and white film and he controls the entire photographic process, from capture, processing film and printing.
Actually he produce high quality fine-art prints of his photography in signed and limited series for art collectors worldwide and have many of his works in private collections worldwide.
Rui Pires is member of Photographic Society of America
Rui Pires have a degree in Image Analysis and Evaluation, is mentor for film photography and is Judge for inter-club competitions by Photographic Society of America.
Since 2011, Rui Pires becomes a Independent Curator, first in Onexposure 1X web Gallery, and actually work as Curator for some NGO Foundations and Governments.
Since 2012 Rui Pires is graduate in Professional Photography in the Institute of Photography of New Work.
As Curator Rui Pires already curate 7 international exhibitions.

About me
Im Robert. Just simply Robert.
Hm..... People asked me to write some more about me. Now here it comes, but do not expect the story of the fathers camera which i got and start my passion for photography.
Just at one day i purchased a camera to start a hobby which took me a way from typical habits my job in foreign countries comes along with. So it starts and did grow. Analogue and digital now and still it is a lot of fun!
Since that time i do not sleep long and stopped watching TV, i go places before i never would have gone. I look at details before i never saw. Some of the beauties in life are still to discover yet. I meet people i would have never meet before! I love what i am doing and i am doing it with my heart and soul! I like to get close! I like people close to me so it is better to feel what they feel which makes me understanding! And i am learning, not only about photography but for life!
What more i can write? Not much! Just look at my pictures! The pictures from simply Robert!
