作为2001年秋季最令人期待的电影之一，钾治下的和平星是何承天shearmur又一部精巧配乐之作。他在过去的三，四年里的作品象查理的天使，残忍的意图，翅膀的鸽等都不是很引人注意，给人平淡无味，毫无新意的感觉。 shearmur有着过去十五年中和各种不同的摇滚乐队的长期经验，因此本质上他是一个电子合成乐者。
很多人会拿美国丽人（美国丽人）和该片配乐比较。表面上，美国丽人的配乐作者汤玛斯纽曼和何承天shearmur有着相似职业经验的作曲家，但是这两位配乐师还是有许多值得评论家和出版商们不为了解的不同之处。

首先：正因为两配乐师同时具有最少见的风格，都有着相似职业经验的作曲家，因此就更能导出两者相似的观点。近期，电子合成乐是一种相当费钱的作曲方法，制片人似乎认为这种配乐形式最能表达出现代城市生活的混沌的一面。如果你把汤玛斯纽曼的作曲风格放到更广的范围-1999到2000年的电影及电视剧来看，就会发现有成打的电影和电视剧在“模仿”纽曼的沉闷调子。最为肯定的一点就是所有这些音乐听上去都象在水下录制的（这个比喻确是很有意思，但很形象）。但钾治下的和平比纽曼的美国丽人在风格似乎要好得多，纽曼倾向于在罕见风格的边缘地带徘徊，而shearmur有些不同，他在不失去自己的旋律的前提下，保持着现代城市的声音。

再次，shearmur还为的K -治下的和平提供了一些柔和的戏剧性小调，这是美国丽人没有的，也是纽曼似乎一直在争取的东西。 shearmur的钾治下的和平带有一种神秘主义色彩，和对酷的鉴赏眼光，这很容易让人想起另外一部讲述外星的电影红色星球，不过在那部片子里电子乐器运用的太过夸张，所有细腻的乐符几乎都淹没在吵杂的电子音乐下面了。

然而，正如美国丽人，钾治下的和平也同样尴尬在某些关键点上受到的另类主义的限制。对于这样一部内容精彩玄妙的电影，每当触及深层次的问题时 shearmur的音乐仅能表现皮毛的东西，而无法深入。单有另类主义时无法制造出这部电影所需的氛围。钾治下的和平的精妙之处并未完全展开，包括梅莉莎卡普兰的独唱，运用风笛来描述prot这个角色都仅是流于概念上的华丽，实质却不见得那样深入。主题曲的运用也被限制了，无法令听众流连忘返。正是这另类主义限制了shearmur本可以为影片提供的魔力，却以沉闷的灌水般的电子合成音效给听众带来听觉“污染” ，如果没有几分钟精彩的钢琴演奏和女声独唱，这张唱片就成了一个另类主义冷淡而空洞无物的杂物袋了。
