Boyd Norton

This year Boyd Norton celebrates 40 years of publishing and saving wilderness worldwide. He is the author/photographer of 13 books, including the popular The Art of Outdoor Photography one of Amazon.com’s bestselling books. Three of his books have been on African subjects: The African Elephant, The Mountain Gorilla, and Safari Journal.

He currently has three new books under contract and due for publication in the Spring of 2007: Serengeti Wild, African Journal, and The Art of Digital Outdoor Photography.

His articles and photo essays have appeared in Time, National Geographic, Smithsonian, Audubon, Conde Nast’s Traveler, Stern, Vogue, Geo, Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography, The New York Times, Playboy, Time-Life Books, and many other publications worldwide.

In addition, Boyd has served on the Board of Trustees of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and is currently on the Board of Directors of Baikal Watch, an environmental organization dedicated to saving Siberia's Lake Baikal. He has been recognized nationally for his environmental work and was given an award by the Environmental Protection Agency, presented by Robert Redford.

He is a founder and Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers (www.conservationphotography.net) and is also a founder, charter member and Fellow of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA, http://www.nanpa.org).

Besides all this, Boyd conducts regular photography workshops for Strabo International and leads tours around the world. He has made more than 40 trips to Africa and has spent a total of more than 800 days in the Serengeti ecosystem. Boyd is a popular trip leader and participants return with memorable stories, great photographs (he has occasionally published participants’ photos in his books), and rave reviews.

I was born in Tampa, FL in 1958, and grew up in rural Hillsborough County, playing in the woods and fields where homes and businesses now stand. Till this day, I live only a couple of miles from where I was raised.

Andy Long is an award-winning photographer / writer who devotes his photography work to the beauty of the world around us. As a leader of workshops since 1994, Andy likes to help people explore new areas and to go home with a memorable experience as well as great images.

I've recently started playing with HDR tonemapped imaging. These are usually produced from five bracketed shots from my Nikon D200. The colours and tonal values tend to be very unrealistic after using Photomatix, ie: colours over-saturated and shadows compressed, so I usually process again in Photoshop.

你太客气了, 其实我也是初学者. 而且发了上贴后, 我也在想, 对片子好坏的认识有很多主观的因素, 一幅让你惊叹的作品可能不会打动我, 所以我应该加上"我认为"在前面 Alex的片子确实很漂亮, 但大都是中规中矩的, 没有太多out of the box, 或自己想法在里面, 对于看过太多生态大片的人来说, 比较难留下深刻印象, 因为很多人都拍过同样的场景或主题. 说他的片子饱和度过是个印象, 跟以前看过的别人的片子比.

East Africa is a vast stage on which the circular, never-ending journey known as the Great Migration has played out for millions of years. The son of commercial artists in Seattle, Washington, Wolfe graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a minor in Art Education. Just three years after graduation, he published his first book, Indian Baskets of the Northwest Coast.
