贴个Red House Painters的灵魂人物Mark Kozekek2003年专辑< Ghosts of the Great Highway>中的曲子, Mark是一位非常优秀的歌手, 此前Red House Painters就在乐界颇受欣赏和推崇。这张专辑还是folk元素居多。 [flash]http://player.youku.com/player.php/sid/XOTU2NjI5Njg=/v.swf[/flash] Sun Kil Moon - Carry Me Ohio < Ghosts of the Great Highway> 2003 Sun Kil Moon

BO DIDDLEY - Bo Diddley (1955) Bo Diddley (December 30, 1928 – June 2, 2008), is the stage name for Ellas Otha Bates, an American rock and roll vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. He was known as "The Originator" because of his key role in the transition from the blues to rock & roll, influencing a host of legendary acts including Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton.[1] He introduced more insistent, driving rhythms and a hard-edged guitar sound on a wide-ranging catalog of songs. Accordingly, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation[2][3] and a Grammy Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He was known in particular for his technical innovations, including his trademark rectangular guitar. "Bo Diddley" is a rhythm and blues song first recorded and sung by Bo Diddley at the Universal Recording Studio in Chicago and released on the Chess Records subsidiary, Checker Records in 1955. It became an immediate hit single that stayed on the R&B charts for a total of 18 weeks, 2 of those weeks at #1, and seven more weeks than its flipside (the B-side, "I'm a Man"). It was the first recording to introduce African rhythms into rock and roll directly by using the patted juba beat. It was Bo Diddley's first recording and his first hit single.[1] It is #62 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. |

While the lyrics of all of his songs were religious, his music drew from both sacred and blues traditions. Among musicians, he is considered one of the greatest slide or bottleneck guitarists, as well as one of the most revered figures of depression-era gospel music. His music is distinguished by his powerful bass thumb-picking and gravelly false-bass voice, with occasional use of a tenor voice. |

BOB DYLAN - I shall be released (1976) <Music from Big Pink> 1968 "I Shall Be Released" is a 1967 song written by Bob Dylan. The Band played it on their debut album, Music from Big Pink (1968), with Richard Manuel singing lead vocals, and Rick Danko and Levon Helm harmonizing in the chorus. A legendary performance of the song was performed near the end of The Band's farewell concert, The Last Waltz, in which all the night's performers (with the exception of Muddy Waters) plus Ringo Starr and Ronnie Wood graced the same stage. Bob Dylan recorded two primary versions. The first is the Basement Tapes initial recording, recorded in 1967 and released on Bootleg Series 1-3 in 1991. Dylan recorded the song a second time in 1971, releasing this new recording on Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Vol. II. |

BOB DYLAN - Hurricane (1975) <Desire> 1975 Hurricane is a protest song by Bob Dylan co-written with Jacques Levy, about the imprisonment of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. It compiles alleged acts of racism and profiling against Carter, which Dylan describes as leading to a false trial and conviction. |

BOB DYLAN - Blowing in the wind (1971) Live in Madison Square Garden 1971 < The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan> 1963 "Blowin' in the Wind" is a song written by Bob Dylan and released on his 1963 album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Although it has been described as a protest song, it poses a series of questions about peace, war, and freedom. The refrain "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind" has been described as "impenetrably ambiguous: either the answer is so obvious it is right in your face, or the answer is as intangible as the wind".[1] In 1999, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2004, it was ranked #14 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". In 2009, the song was licensed for commercial use when The Co-operative Group used it as the soundtrack to a £10 million brand re-launch. |

摇滚史上最伟大的一首歌.
[flash]http://player.youku.com/player.php/sid/XMTM2Njk0NDk2/v.swf[/flash] BOB DYLAN - Like a Rolling Stone (1966) < Highway 61 Revisited> 1965 "Like a Rolling Stone" is a song by American songwriter Bob Dylan, and is one of his best-known and most influential compositions. The song's origins lie in an extended piece of verse which Dylan had written in June 1965 following his tour of England. Subsequently transforming his sprawling verse into a confrontational song,Dylan recorded "Like a Rolling Stone" a few weeks later, but Columbia, unhappy with the single's length and sound, held up its release for a full month. The track was released as a single in July 1965, and also appeared on Dylan's album Highway 61 Revisited. At over six minutes in length, many radio stations were initially reluctant to play it, yet it managed to reach #2 in the U.S.A.,and was a Top 10 hit in countries including Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. While some Dylan fans criticised the single for its hard rock sound, the record made a huge impact on many teenagers. As Bruce Springsteen recalled in his 1988 speech inducting Dylan into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, "The first time I heard Bob Dylan, I was in the car with my mother listening to WMCA, and on came that snare shot that sounded like somebody had kicked open the door to your mind.... Dylan freed your mind the way Elvis freed your body." The song dramatically affected the music world and popular culture, as well as Dylan's image and iconic status. It has been covered by a number of artists, including Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and Bob Marley .Rolling Stone magazine ranked it as the #1 song on their "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. |
