BILLY J.KRAMER and THE DAKOTAS - Little Children

Billy J. Kramer (born William Howard Ashton, 19 August 1943, in Bootle, Liverpool, England) is a former British Invasion/Merseybeat singer. In sharing Brian Epstein as a manager with The Beatles he enjoyed access to the songwriting of Lennon and McCartney, recording several of their original compositions.

Little Children was a song written by J. Leslie McFarland and Mort Shuman. It was recorded by Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas which reached Number One in the UK Singles chart in March 1964, and Number 7 in the U.S. later the same year.

The lyric concerns a man's entreaties to his girlfriend's young siblings not to reveal his courtship of their elder sister and to leave them alone. As such, it was a departure from the traditional love songs hitherto recorded by Kramer (sometimes supplied by Lennon & McCartney). When offered another Lennon and McCartney song ("One and One is Two") for his next single by the manager of both groups, Brian Epstein, Kramer turned it down and chose instead Little Children after a search for suitable material from music publishers.

BLACK SABBATH - N.I.B. (1970)

"N.I.B." is a song released by the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. It first appeared as part of the third track on the band's 1970 self-titled debut album, Black Sabbath. The lyrics are in the first person from the point of view of Lucifer. Some listeners have claimed that the song is about Lucifer seducing the listener; however, lyricist Geezer Butler clarifies that "the song was about the devil falling in love and totally changing, becoming a good person."[1]

"N.I.B." begins with a bass solo by Geezer Butler, titled "Bassically" on some US releases. It involves the use of wah-wah on his bass and was recorded in one take, as the amp's volume control is plainly turned up before the distorted bass intro of "N.I.B." begins.

The title was widely rumoured to have stood for "Nativity in Black" (or to a much lesser extent, "Name In Blood"). In a 1992 interview, Geezer Butler states that the title simply refers to Bill Ward's goatee at the time, which the rest of the band thought was shaped like a pen nib; also referred to as nibby.[2] "Nativity in Black" was also used for the title of a series of Black Sabbath tribute albums. Ronnie James Dio can be heard mentioning (but not confirming) this assumption on several live bootleg recordings with the band from the early 1980s.

BLACK SABBATH - Children of the Grave (1974)

"Children of the Grave" is a song by Black Sabbath from their 1971 album Master of Reality. The song lyrically continues with the same themes brought on by "War Pigs" and "Electric Funeral" from Paranoid. Two previously unreleased versions of this song will be released on the upcoming deluxe edition of Master of Reality. The first is a version with alternate lyrics, the second an instrumental version.

The song has been featured on several greatest hits and live albums. As well as being performed by Black Sabbath in concert, in its various incarnations, Ozzy Osbourne performed it in concert many times as a solo artist.

1967年，Bessie Smith入选Down Beat爵士名人堂。

Big Bill Broonzy (26 June 1898 – 14 August 1958) was a prolific American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. His career began in the 1920s when he played Country blues to mostly black audiences. Through the ‘30s and ‘40s he successfully navigated a transition in style to a more urban blues sound popular with white audiences. In the 1950s a return to his traditional folk-blues roots made him one of the leading figures of the emerging American folk music revival and an international star. His long and varied career marks him as one of the key figures in the development of blues music in the 20th century.

Broonzy copyrighted more than 300 songs during his lifetime, including both adaptations of traditional folk songs and original blues songs. As a blues composer, he was unique in that his compositions reflected the many vantage points of his rural-to-urban experiences.

"Landslide" is a song written by Stevie Nicks and performed by Fleetwood Mac. It was first featured on the band's 1975 album Fleetwood Mac. Nicks was 26 years old when she wrote the song.

Nicks has said that she wrote this song while she was contemplating going back to school or continuing on with guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Her band Buckingham Nicks had been dropped by Polydor Records and she and Buckingham were not getting along. She wrote the song while visiting Aspen, Colorado sitting in someone's living room "looking out at the Rocky Mountains pondering the avalanche of everything that had come crashing down on us...at that moment, my life truly felt like a landslide in many ways."
Other covers
Alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins made an acoustic cover of the song that was featured on their 1994 B-side collection Pisces Iscariot. The cover was a hit, making it to the top three on the Modern Rock Tracks chart in the U.S. that year and #30 on the U.S. Airplay charts.

Many other artists from diverse genres of music have also recorded the song. Singer-songwriter Tori Amos has covered the song in concerts since 1994 during her Pink Tour. The album Y100 Sonic Sessions: volume 1, includes a live version. Others renditions include the Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante's version recorded during solo concerts, jazz singer Stacey Kent's version on her album Breakfast on the Morning Tram, and a version by Venice, a favorite of Stevie Nicks, for their 1999 album Spin Art,
The country group Dixie Chicks then covered "Landslide" on their 2002 Home album. This rendition, featuring the group's trademark two- and three-part harmonies reached the Top 10 of both the pop (#7) and country charts (#2) as well as several other charts. It became the Dixie Chicks' only #1 single (to date) on the adult contemporary chart. Lead singer Natalie Maines said she was attracted, in part, to the song because she was then the same age that Nicks was when she initially performed it.

Released in July 1981, the album hit #1 on the U.S. Billboard charts in September of that year, remaining there for one week. Bella Donna was awarded Platinum status by the RIAA three months after its release on October 7, 1981, and has sold over 4 million copies in the U.S. and remains her best-selling solo album to date worldwide.

The album spawned four substantial hit singles during 1981 and 1982: the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers-penned duet "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" (#3), the Don Henley duet "Leather and Lace" (#6), the iconic "Edge of Seventeen" (#11), and country-tinged "After the Glitter Fades" (#32).

Bella Donna would mark the beginning of Nicks' trend of calling upon her many musician friends and connections to fully realize her sparse demo recordings. Along with friends Tom Petty and Don Henley, Nicks brought in famed session musician Waddy Wachtel, Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band pianist Roy Bittan, and Muscle Shoals session man Donald "Duck" Dunn of Booker T. & the MGs. Though Bella Donna's personnel list includes some 20 musicians, the album is very much Nicks' own work, with all but one of the songs on the record written by her.

The album also marked the first recording featuring Nicks' backing vocalists, Sharon Celani and Lori Perry, who still record and tour with Nicks today.
