　  柴可夫斯基的《洛可可主题变奏曲》1876年，柴可夫斯基创作了《洛可可主题变奏曲》，题献给他的好朋友、著名大提琴家菲芩哈根，该曲于1877年11月30日在莫斯科首演。“洛可可”一词，源于法语ro-caill,意思为“贝壳形”。是法国十八世纪中叶，庭院布置、室内装饰多方面的一种实用的艺术风格，其特点为强调富丽堂皇的外形和纤巧繁琐的装饰，在具体运用中强调不对称的各种漩涡形曲线和轻淡柔和的色彩。在音乐上常指巴洛克至古典乐派过渡时期的音乐作品风格。柴可夫斯基的《洛可可主题变奏曲》，曲名意在表明乐曲按照莫扎特的风格写成。曲调流丽安逸，具有和莫扎特作品相似的诗意，同时也表现出柴可夫斯基的艺术个性，以及俄罗斯民族音乐的风格。1879年，李斯特听了这部作品后赞叹道：“瞧，终于又听到音乐了”！《洛可可主题变奏曲》由一个主题与八个变奏组成，具有浓厚的俄罗斯音乐特点。由于这部作品是一首经典的变奏曲，所以版本也很多，但大提琴家菲芩哈根编定、演奏的版本流传最广。 　　

    除了上述介绍的作品，著名的变奏曲还有：帕格尼尼的《摩西主题变奏曲》、柯达伊的《孔雀变奏曲》、埃尔加的《谜语变奏曲》、《威尼斯狂欢节幻想变奏曲》、《那坡里民歌主题幻想曲与变奏曲》、《魔笛主题变奏曲》等等。 　　

    在※※民间音乐中，加花变奏法是旋律发展的重要手法之一。用装饰音把旋律装饰起来，使其更为丰富。加花变奏的手法有两种：一是原板变奏，保持结构而使骨干音提前或延迟出现；二是增减板变奏，扩充或压缩节拍，增减速度放慢，减板速度加快，民间称之为“快减慢繁”法。江南丝竹，古曲《春江花月夜》都有此类的变奏手法。
