音乐家：刘雪庵

刘雪庵，1905年出生在铜梁巴川镇东门盐店一个绅士家庭。他自幼失去父母，在同父异母兄长的私塾中，接受中国传统文化的教育，兼习昆曲。他聪明好学，先后考入铜梁县立中学、成都私立美术专科学校。1929年，刘雪庵去上海，求学于陈望道创办的中华艺术大学，受教于欧阳予倩、洪深等文艺名流。次年考入上海国立音乐专科学校，从师肖友梅、黄自学理论作曲，从俄籍教师吕维钿夫人学钢琴，从朱英学琵琶，从吴伯超学指挥，从龙榆生学中国韵文及诗词，从李维宁学赋律和自由作曲。真可谓“学贯中西，习通古今”，一颗音乐巨星冉冉升起。
在校求艺期间，刘雪庵便开始了音乐创作。他的早期作品主要为抒情乐曲，其中《踏雪寻梅》、《飘零的落花》、《菊花黄》、《枫桥夜泊》、《红豆词》等乐曲典雅高洁，温柔敦厚，艺术韵味浓郁，深为当时的文化人所喜爱。另一类抒情乐曲则借鉴古乐府的通俗易懂，如《早行乐》、《采莲谣》、《布谷》、《淮南民谣》等乐曲婉转动听，具有浓郁的生活气息，民间广为传唱，并飘洋过海，惊动异城，当时的东京、巴黎、纽约等大都市的出版界和音乐界也为刘雪庵作品的出版的演唱繁忙过，兴奋过。
